Dass die Wii U über ein Account-System verfügt, ist schon längere Zeit bekannt. David Marshall vom Nintendo-Kundenservice gab nun genauere Auskunft über das Account-System. Es wird sich dabei um ein einheitliches System handeln, auf das man nicht nur über die Wii U, sondern auch mittels 3DS zugreifen kann. Bislang bietet der 3DS noch kein Account-betriebenes Online-System.
Das Account-System soll Marshall zufolge zum Start der Wii U bereitstehen und schließlich auch mit dem 3DS kompatibel gemacht werden. Ob das eine sofortige Implementierung oder erst einige Zeit danach bedeutet, ist nicht klar. Wie genau das funktionieren wird, oder ob das System auch außerhalb der USA funktionieren wird, wollte Marshall nicht erklären.
Der Service-Mitarbeiter nannte eine Möglichkeit des Account-Systems. Wurde beispielsweise der eigene 3DS gestohlen, könne Nintendo den Account auf eine neue Mobilkonsole übertragen, sofern ein Polizeibericht vorliege, der den Diebstahl bestätige.
A unified account system will be implemented later this year with the launch of the Wii U. Eventually this same account system will be made compatible with Nintendo 3DS systems. At this time we have no additional details to offer and nothing to indicate how or if this will work outside the United States and Canada. In the meantime, if the system has a problem, taking it to an Authorized Service Center will maintain the Nintendo eShop account. If the system is stolen, we can transfer the account to a new system once we are provided with a valid police report.
