Sumo Digital hat im letzten Jahr mit Snake Pass wieder die Aufmerksamkeit auf sich gezogen und war zuvor durch Auftragsarbeiten, wie zum Beispiel Sonic & All-Stars Racing sowie LittleBigPlanet 3 bekannt.
Nachdem sie bereits Studios in Sheffield, Nottingham und Indien besitzen, haben sie jetzt von EVE-Entwickler CCP Games das Studio und 34 Mitarbeiter in Newcastle übernommen. Das Studio war zuvor an EVE: Valkyrie und Sparc beteiligt, wurde aber vor kurzem geschlossen, da CCP Games sich von dem VR-Markt zurückzieht. Weitere Infos gibt es in der folgenden Pressemitteilung:
2nd January 2018. Sheffield, UK. Sumo Digital, part of the Sumo Group plc (AIM: SUMO) a leading independent game developer, today announced that it has taken on CCP Games’ Newcastle studio.
34 staff have transferred to Sumo Digital, with Owen O’Brien as Studio Director, and remain in Newcastle. As the fourth studio for the developer – the third in the UK alongside Sheffield and Nottingham – this addition further extends Sumo’s capacity and breadth of experience.
