Viele unterschiedliche Franchises hat Telltale Games bereits durch ihre Adventure-Schablone gedrückt. Die Qualität der Spiele schwankte dabei, doch eine Entwicklung ging stetig in die gleiche Richtung. Die genutzt Engine zeigte ihr Alter immer deutlicher und sorgte bei Presse und Spielern gleichermaßen für entsprechende Reaktionen.
Vor Kurzem hat Telltale Games bereits bekannt gegeben, dass man die Anzahl der veröffentlichten Spiele drosseln wolle, um die Qualität zu erhöhen. Jetzt ist dank zwei Stellenanzeigen ein Gerücht aufgetaucht, dass weitere Änderungen vermuten lässt.
Telltale Games sucht einen Gameplay Programmer und einen Senior Tools Engineer. In beiden Anzeigen wird die Unity Engine erwähnt. Bislang wurde eine eigene Engine namens Telltale Tool genutzt.

- Senior Tools Engineer
“Telltale’s Core Engineering group is responsible for developing tools and libraries used by Telltale’s artists, designers, and Lua programmers to create content for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, PC, Mac, and Android. Tools Engineers at Telltale develop software with the most intuitive and powerful user-experience possible, to enable artists to do the highest quality work they can. A background in UX is desirable, as is any prior experience developing UI using the Qt library suite or Unity.”
