Square Enix has released the first gameplay trailer of the Nintendo Switch 2 version ofFinal Fantasy XIV .
The port of the popular MMORPG was announced in Aprilat theFinal Fantasy XIV Fan Festival.However, no gameplay footage was shown at that time. Also duringthis week there was only a short clip to see. The newly released trailer is only 40 seconds long but offers the best impression so far of the game's performance on the Switch 2.

Final Fantasy XIVwill be released this August for Nintendo Switch 2 and will require a subscription. Those who already play the MMORPG on another platform will need an additional subscription for the Switch 2 version but will receive a 50% discount. Existing characters and accounts can be used on the Nintendo Switch 2. An additional Nintendo Switch Online membership is not necessary.
In January 2027, the seventh story expansion,Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold,will also be released.
