The responsible developer studio forStar Fox for the Nintendo Switch 2 has been announced and it surprises Nintendo fans.
Until now, fans had assumed thatStar Foxwas being developed by an internal team at Nintendo. Instead, the remake of the Nintendo 64 classic is being created by an external developer studio, with whom Nintendo has collaborated on an extraordinary game.
This is the team behind Star Fox for Switch 2
The studio in question is Velan Studios, which worked together with Nintendo onMario Kart Live: Home Circuit, an augmented reality game released with a remote-controlled kart whose integrated camera transmitted the action directly to the Nintendo Switch.
The US-based team is also responsible forKnockout City, which was also released for Nintendo Switch, and they recently publishedMidnight Murder Clubtogether with Sony for the PlayStation 5.

At the same time, the developer studio also announced thatStar Foxis being developed using their in-house engine VIPER. "This allowed us to bring back Fox and his crew with unprecedented detail, featuring gameplay at 60 fps and real-time rendered cutscenes," they added.
Star Foxwill be released on June 25 exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 and is a remake ofStar Fox 64. Afree demo with the first minutes of gameplayhas been available in the Nintendo eShop since this week.
